Published package prices from the Sydney clinics we checked, as at September 2026.

Sydney prices sit within the national picture: across Australia the published FUE range for 2,000 to 3,000 grafts is $5,500 to $19,300.

What changes the price

  • Graft count. The single biggest driver. More coverage means more grafts and a longer procedure.
  • Method. FUE takes follicles one at a time; FUT removes a strip. Clinics price them differently.
  • Who performs it. Surgeon-led procedures and technician-led procedures are priced differently. Where a clinic offers both, the doctor-performed option costs more.
  • What is included. Consultation, medication, aftercare and follow-up visits vary by clinic. Check whether GST and any theatre or facility fee are in the quote.

Common questions

How much does a hair transplant cost in Sydney?

The published FUE package prices we found for 2,000 to 3,000 grafts in Sydney run from $5,500 to $19,250. Smaller hairline sessions cost less and larger sessions cost more. Your quote depends on your graft count, the method and who performs it.

Does Medicare cover a hair transplant in NSW?

Usually not. Medicare rules are the same in every state. Cosmetic hair restoration for pattern hair loss attracts no Medicare rebate, and private health funds generally do not cover it. Hair loss after burns, injury or disease can be assessed differently.

Is it cheaper to go overseas than to have it done in Sydney?

The headline price overseas is much lower, but flights, accommodation, time off work and aftercare add up, and follow-up or repair work back home costs extra. Compare the full cost before deciding.
